Officially in 2010 now!!

We were headed to the car for church and I realized how adorable and color coordinated they were...so what could I do...but whip out my camera and snap a few pictures. Gracen had slept in some braids to see if we could make some waves...it turned out pretty fun.

And now, folks...this post brings me into 2010...officially. I'm so glad to be done blogging about 2009. I mean, that was SOOO last year...

Dress Up

Gracen and Grier were playing in my heels...and I'm pretty sure they both walk in them better than I do.

Potty Trained

Grier potty training herself on Thanksgiving

Along with having a healthy son on Thanksgiving, Grier decided she was D-O-N-E with diapers. So she informed us she would be using the potty. We said "great" and let her lead the way. She was amazingly easy to potty train...I guess there's something to that whole big sibling thing...or maybe it was just God's grace pouring out on me. She wants to be like Gracen SO badly...most of the time that's not a good thing, but in this case, it was super duper! She had no accidents, and to this day...being April...she's had maybe 2 because she waited too long to get to the potty. She wore pull-ups for a whopping 3 weeks for bedtime, and then decided she was done with that too. I could hardly believe it. So this is something to celebrate in the Magee house...because I've only had ONE child in diapers for the last 5 months...HELLO, that is a rare occurrence around here! Can we all say a collective Hallelujah!?! Thank you Grier!

Real Life Babydoll

She's got some skills.

Evan's messy face is what happens when your 2 year old "big" sister feeds you.

Evan thinks Grier is a blast...just as the rest of us do.

It's Grier's real life baby doll...now if only Grier learned to change diapers.

Play Date

I LOVE play dates with Kendall...for obvious reasons-like, she's my best friend and I enjoy her company, and our kids love each other...but there is another reason. It always turns into a spontaneous photo shoot. Her camera is always close by and she seems to always capture the sweetest moments with my kids. I end up with a fun filled day AND the most precious pictures of my babies. What more could you ask for from a play date?

Dancing Days

My Ballerinas

Have NO idea what the head cock is all about...but I blame it on Auntie JoJo...she's famous for it.

Excited about class starting.

My pretty girls

Gracen and Grier LOVE dance...I mean L-O-V-E love dance. I was under the impression that this is normal for all little girls...but overhearing moms at dance class complain about dragging their little girls to dance, I'm thinking we might have something here. I might actually have dancers on my hand...which I think is pretty cool. Gracen eats, sleeps, and drinks dance...almost to the point of obsession. This past Sunday I peeked in her room at church, b/c the class we teach is next door to hers. Instead of sitting with all the little girls during small group time she was in another part of the room "practicing her dance" as she put it. What dance? I'm not sure. She hasn't learned her recital piece yet...so I'm not sure what the urgency was all about...but whatever. Anyways, after talking to her, and explaining that there is a time and a place for dance, and that she was being disrespectful to sweet Mrs. Carla, she went and sat with her small group. But you can bet what she did when we got home that afternoon...

Who needs a pool??

Dreaming of Better Days

I caught Grier in the baby's exersaucer the other day...no doubt, dreaming of better days...when SHE was the baby.

Big Brother's Shadow

I found her yesterday hanging out in Aiden's room watching him play with his Tinker Toys. Apparently, she wanted to be cozy during the viewing. She was snuggled on his toy box complete with her pillow and blanket. Grier is such a character. She LOVES her big brother. She follows him around a lot, which is fine by him. Aiden is really really sweet with Grier, and appreciates the company. They both love being around people and would rather play with someone than be alone...so they make a good pair.

Accident Prone

Legs full of bruises

A busted lip, and a shiner, and a healing goose egg.

Check out that massive goose egg

Grier was fighting the ice, and her goose egg got rather big.
Grier is so accident prone these days. Every time we turn around, she's falling down or bumping her head on something. Last night, she fell in the driveway...and busted her lip. Last week at Aiden's Tball game, she tripped and fell flat on her face/head, and hit a flat rock that was in the ground. And we noticed a few days ago, that the goose egg has caused a shiner in the corner of her eye...which we read could happen. I'm starting to get a tad self conscious. I'm trying to convince her that she has a VERY happy and loving home, so CPS doesn't pay me a visit. Maybe the sad picture of her crying isn't helping my case. I think I might research helmets...

Playmates

Gracen and Grier are becoming such great playmates. I think having Aiden in school a couple days a week has been good for their relationship. They get to have totally girly days...dress-up, tea parties, playing house, playing with their ponies. It's been really fun. Grier follows Gracen around and wants to do exactly what she does, and Gracen LOVES that! And don't you know she likes bossing her little sister around, after being bossed constantly by her big brother. We rediscovered an old toy...a bus tent, and they have been imagining all kinds of games in there. I can't wait until Grier gets bigger and they can have real conversations, where she's contributing to all of their pretending. In the mean time, Gracen is getting pretty used to having a shadow that does everything she says...Hmmm.

Found Treasure

I had just finished pumping this morning, and put the treasure on the counter. I started loading the dishwasher, and this little munchkin went and scammed my "liquid gold"...little toot! And she looks pretty proud of herself too.

Funny Girl

She's starting to panic a little...thinking that she's stuck. Is it bad that I took a picture instead of helping her??
Whew...all is well again!
I couldn't find Grier the other day...she had been playing in her room, and then I stopped hearing her. So I went to check on her, and she was just hangin' out under her sister's bed. She makes me laugh. There is no room under there, but she still managed to get a few toys under there. I love her!

Happy Birthday Grier 3/9

She just opened her tea set. She's pretty excited.

Suddenly bashful as we sang Happy Birthday to her at breakfast.

Her fake smile.

She didn't want me to take pictures...yeah, she's only 2.

Enjoying her birthday cupcake.

Camp out in their "tent"

Happy Birthday my sweet Grier. You just turned 2, and mommy can hardly believe it. I remember your birth like it was yesterday...maybe because my epidural didn't work. You are a complete joy for Daddy and I. You make us laugh on a regular basis with your goofy faces, and dances. You love to be the family clown, and you brighten our day with your smile alone. You want to be a big girl so badly, doing everything that Gracen does. You are a quick learner watching your older siblings. That is not always a good thing. You really like to use the word "no" and we are continuously showing you that that is not a good choice. :) On a positive note you have learned to undress yourself already, and you walk like a pro in your dress up high heels...even better then your big sister, and probably Mommy too. I love to listen at the door when nap time is over and hear the little conversations you have with all your little "friends" in your crib. You are such a character...and so quirky. I can't wait to see what God does in your life little firecracker. I pray that you love God and enjoy going to church with your family. I pray that you make a decision early on to place your faith in Jesus. I pray that you have a love for people, and you let your little light shine. I am so proud of the big sister you have become. You are so sensitive to your baby sister's needs, and I love the way you try to help me all the time...burping Evan, bringing me a diaper or her burp cloth, trying to put a pacifier in her mouth...and even rocking her in her carseat. Our family would not be complete without you, my precious Grier. Happy Birthday...You are loved.

Elton John Magee

Can't eat a meal without my shades
I said, "Grier look at me"...this is what I get.

Second pair for the evening.

Grier really keeps us laughing around here. She is our goofiest child so far and we are constantly surprised at what she comes up with. She is really into accessories...sunglasses, purses, bows, shoes, and jewelry...you name it, she'll wear it. Notice she is wearing the sunglasses at the dinner table. She put them on before she got in her chair, and wore them the entire time, without even batting an eye. She's not trying to be funny...she just likes her shades. And doesn't she have a freaky resemblance to Elton John??
